ACEvents-Creating Memories Not Just Parties

Hello, my name is Abi Critcher; I am based in Cornwall and am currently working at an environmental consultancy as an administrative assistant. I decided to take a course in event and wedding planning as organising people is a speciality of mine. I thoroughly enjoy planning every little detail of an event and then watching it all come together, even something as small as a garden barbeque. It has been known to drive my friends crazy!

I hope that in the next five years I will be able to set up my own business. In the meantime I hope to gain some experience in the industry by taking part in some volunteer work with a qualified event planner, this is something I am looking into in my area at present.

Taking this course is just the first step to realising my dream of owning my own business and I am looking forward to making peoples’ dreams and visions for their events come true, with as little stress as possible, and creating lifelong memories.

Having left school after GCSE level (studying History, Sociology, English Language and Literature and IT) I worked as a sales assistant in a clothing and home ware shop, from there I became a receptionist working in dental practices and more presently a holiday cottage resort. Here I gained customer care experience from working with the public every day.
I am a highly sociable, enthusiastic person and truly hardworking. I am able to prioritise workloads in order to get things done efficiently, a skill I have naturally developed through my work.
It was these traits, along with my head full of ideas and love of organisation and planning on a social level, which made me decide to take this step towards my future career.
