John Randolph said that “Time is at once the most valuable and the most perishable of all our possessions.” Hands up, how many times you have thought to yourself, I want to plan a party, wedding, event etc but I simply don’t have the time? Well this is where I come in.
My name is Shelley and I am an events and wedding planner. I am based in Northamptonshire but can travel UK-wide.
Planning any event can sometimes feel like a daunting prospect, so I am here to help you explore your inner creativity and to bring your ideas to life. I will take care of the frustrating, stressful and time-consuming elements of planning, leaving you to enjoy the best parts both on the day as well as the time leading up to it.
From bar mitzvahs in Birmingham, to 90th birthday parties in Nottingham to weddings in Wendover, I will listen, guide and help to take the pressure off. However, be rest assured that you will not lose control of your event – at the end of the day – it’s your time to shine!
I pride myself in being organized and professional but also feel a personal approach is the most effective. Every event is treated as if it was one I was hosting with every attention being made to the smallest detail. This is key as it could make the difference between the event being perfect or not.
With my passion for planning and organising as well as meeting people from all different walks of life, I decided to retrain and become an Events and Wedding Planner. Having over 15 years experience in account and project management put me in good stead and along with studying Event Management and Wedding Planning, the skills obtained compliment each other and go hand in hand perfectly.
I have already arranged a Christmas party for a local sports club which included collecting monies from all attendees to liaising with the venue to creating table decorations and a seating plan. The party was a roaring success and I have been asked to organise next year’s already!
I have also been helping a lovely bride to be with her big day next summer – giving her ideas on invitations, table decorations, music as well as flower choices. However, I can put my hand to any event/wedding – large or small and will relish the challenge that comes with every one.
Having an event/wedding planner was always seen as being for the rich and famous – well not anymore. We simply make the whole process easy, stress free and can even save you money by finding the best deals and keeping a close on eye on the budget.
My role is to do the “leg work” from finding you the perfect venue, to ensuring that all deadlines are met both on time and budget. This takes away the stress and leaves you to just enjoy the day.
To ensure that all parties know what is involved, there will be a consultation first – this could be at your home or over a coffee in a local café – I will work to whatever is easiest for you. This initial meet will not only be to introduce ourselves to each other but will also allow us to bounce ideas around and to gauge what sort of event is to be planned – however specific or vague the needs may be.
My services range from offering simple guidance - I can help with giving you ideas and possible suppliers; to managing the whole event by visiting the venue, confirm all bookings, send out invitations and printing table plans to name a few.
I will find the best supplier for each element of your event and work with them closely to make sure that all requirements are met.
Every aspect of your event needs to run as smoothly as possible and to make this happen, I will work alongside you each step of the way – it is your event first and foremost.
