Planning Your Event or Dream Wedding with Tender Loving Care
My name is Lori J. Osborne and I live in Dayton, Ohio. I have planned weddings for myself and friends, and numerous events throughout my professional career as an administrative assistant. I have recently taken an early retirement in order to launch my event and wedding planning business, TLC Events & Weddings, LLC, which can be found at www.tlceventsandweddings.com.
Now that I am working strictly from home, I will be able to provide full attention to every detail of your special event – whether it be a birthday party, small family gathering, or a wedding of any size. I am very detail-oriented and possess exceptional organizational skills, and I have an eye for color and a sense of creativity to make your event special and unique.
Throughout my career, I have worked with hotels and airlines on incentive travel as well as planned numerous company events for employees such as employee recognition events, catering for job fairs, health fairs, and employee cookouts. All of these events included catering and activities, such as sports-related games for employees during an employee recognition event with a tailgate party theme.
As an administrative assistant for 30 years, I have worked with CEOs, Presidents, City Managers and Mayors, as well as many colleagues outside the organization. I have been required to juggle many projects at one time, and have met deadlines and completed those projects with exceptional skill.
I planned my own wedding in 2002, which took place at Benham’s Grove in Centerville, an 1800s Victorian home. I researched Victorian weddings and used the types of flowers, the colors, and many other items as my decorations, such as teacups (different styles on every round table) with heart-shaped floating candles in them. I also used fans decorated with flowers as decorations and as my own bouquet.
Additionally, I have planned weddings for friends since 2002, including a very small wedding on a docked boat on the Ohio River with a black/white theme and an outdoor wedding in the fall using the natural colors of the season. I have also planned many parties at my own home for friends and family, including a 16th birthday party for my daughter. She wanted a murder mystery theme, and we selected a James Bond party. One twist on this party, however, was that she did not want everything to be scripted, so I had to convert all of the scripted lines to be spoken by the guests into clues that could be found or “won” through various games – we had a scavenger hunt, poker games, and a shooting game (using nerf guns and aiming at targets hung on a sheet). My daughter made candy hors d’oeuvres – using candies, sugars and chocolate, she created oysters on the half shell, sushi on crackers (actually a Rice Krispies treat), and marzipan. We made non-alcoholic colorful martinis, and had a cake shaped like the Aston Martin!
My services will cover every aspect of planning your event or wedding – invitations, programs, seating charts, escort cards, catering, decorations and rentals, music and entertainment, photographers and videographers, venues, transportation, etc. I can provide everything from consultations to help you start thinking of fresh and creative ideas if you want to take on the actual planning yourself, or I can provide full planning services up to and including the day-of coordination. TLC Events & Weddings can also prepare your event programs, menus, favor tags, escort cards, and table cards. I can also offer a personalized song for the couple or guest of honor, written by myself and my husband which he can perform at your event or can record the song so that it can be played during your event.
