Rock your style with a smile

First off I would just like to say thanks for checking out my site. For as long as I can remember I have always loved the world of fashion. As a kid I would watch Channels like fashion tv as often as I could. You could always catch me reading one of my favorite fashion magazines like Vogue or Instyle. I loved watching any movies or tv shows that involved fashion. Devil wears Prada, Confession of a shopaholic, In a New York minute, Sex in the city, What Not To Wear, even Say yes to the dress. As long as it involved a large amount of clothing and fashion knowledge I was watching it.

Growing up I wasn't sure what I wanted to be in life. I went back and forth between A singer, actress, model, even a photographer! Anything to be in the world of fashion and entertainment. I looked up to people like Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks, Kate Moss and Gisele Bunchen. They were always so beautiful and styled so well. As I got older I became more and more confused on what I wanted to do after highschool. There were so many choices and I didn't know how to make any of them a reality. So I decided that I would go into healthcare while I decided what I wanted to do with my life. Well as the years started to pass and I became a mom my dream of working in Hollywood, Paris and New York City someday started to fade away and become just a silly childhood dream. I worked in healthcare for 10 years, taking care of elderly people. I absolutely loved it but something was still missing. I wasn't satisfied or content in life. I felt like a huge part of me was missing. That there was a huge hole in my life. Through out the 10 years of working healthcare I still kept a bit of fashion in my life. I would pick up my new fashion magazines every week or month. I would still rent or buy all the top fashion movies. Watch all the fashion shows and fashion tv shows I could. I would still take my sisters or friends that needed it shopping and help them pick out some awesome outfits for up coming events or seasons. I felt like I was happy when I was doing these things. So after a lot of careful consideration I decided I was going to transition my life from healthcare back to the world of fashion. So I started with taking on a few personal clients and doing styling for them. I worked for free for a while just to build a base. Then came the decision to get really certified in it. So I decided to check out some courses on line and inrolled in a great program. Still working through school and now working full time as a style consultant at a local boutique I couldn't be happier. Its not my end goal yet but Its all about baby steps and stepping stones. No one gets their dream over night. I am not afraid of a little hard work and effort to get to the career I want. To be a respected stylist and be living in the city Ive been dreaming of since I was a young girl. Never give up on your hopes and dreams. Always follow your heart.
