Because you deserve to be beautiful on Monday mornings too

My name is Olga Valli. I was born in Russia, not far from Moscow. From childhood, I remember being fascinated with makeup. In fact, at a very young age, I would take my Mom’s bright red lipstick and put it on all my dolls. It seemed to me that they look so much nicer. My mother never got angry at me for it. As I got older, the obsession with makeup only intensified. From 2000 to 2004, I studied at the College of Art and Culture, and my favorite makeup art from was Grimm. It came naturally to me and I was able to visualize the outcome and then had the ability to create the art on the body. My instructor was very impressed and I always had the highest scores in my class. In addition, my classmates would ask me to do their makeup before training performances. Even though I was in my early twenties at the time, I never knew that being a makeup artist was a reality for me and that I could pursue it as a career and it would lead to owning my own business. In 2005, I decided to move to Moscow and start an independent life. I changed a lot of jobs, I worked in the museum, the library, the Palace of Culture and even the Palace of marriage, but none of those opportunities gave me real pleasure as the work I did in the theatrical settings. I worked in one of the leading theaters in the capital of Russia and helped the actors with a selection of costumes and makeup. In 2012, I moved to America with my husband. Last year, we became parents as we had our first child, a beautiful baby girl. Now I'm 30 years old and happy with my life and there's only one thing left to fulfill my dreams. I would like to become a professional makeup artist and become the best in the business. My philosophy in life is to work hard and pursue your dreams and with focused determination give life your best without regrets.

To be beautiful and attractive, good looking, now that is what dreams are made of. Who does not dream about it? We all fanaticize about our appearance. To me, it is our individual business card that displays our personalities. You never get a second chance at a first impression and appearance is a critical non-verbal communicator that provides a lot of information about one’s self and a portrait for others to make initial judgments. Generally speaking, people judge by appearance, even before we have time to meet and say the first word. To look and feel beautiful is so much more than being gifted and/or possessing natural beauty. The ability to portray confidence and self-worth just in appearance alone is the ultimate display of attractiveness and is truly an art that requires effort in order to achieve personal success. As the great Russian writer A.P. Chekhov wrote, "In man, everything should be fine: the face and clothing, and soul, and mind." This phrase has become my motto in life. It is my passion and in part, my pursuit of happiness to invest my time, education and skills to make people not only look beautiful on the outside, but more importantly for them to feel worthy and empowered on the inside. My desire is to simply touch people’s souls and make them feel extraordinary inside and out; and if I change a life inwardly by transforming someone’s beauty on the outside, then I have truly contributed to society in making the world a better place. It is less to do with vanity and more to do about making people feel good about themselves. Remember, perfect faces may not necessarily exist, but there is makeup that perfectly suits you and can help a person feel more perfect.
