Aspiring Lauren Conrad of Canada

My name is Lindsay Rosso. I am a small town girl with big dreams. (Touché, I know) I’m 20 years old from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada and I know what I want. – to be a stylist in the fashion industry. Fashion has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I would draw books and books of clothing designs. I imagined my Barbie clothes and collection of plastic high heels and tiaras would one day be real. At the young age of 4 I began taking ballet lessons. For 13 years I studied the art of dance and the costumes were as exciting for me as the performances themselves. When choosing a career path, it was an easy decision for me. I knew my future was in the fashion industry. Fashion is something that always keeps my interest and ambition high. That is exactly what I need to pursue a successful career and more than that be happy to walk into my workplace everyday. After high school I moved to London, Ontario to begin my fashion education at Fanshawe College where I studied Fashion Merchandising for 2 years. This program exposed me to every aspect of fashion. The program included courses such as fashion history, accounting, retail math, fashion buying, design principles, event planning, fashion illustration, photo styling, textiles, visual merchandising and many more. This program was so enjoyable that it gave me a new outlook on school. My classes became something that I not only enjoyed and excelled at it became my life. My time spent at Fanshawe has inspired me to continue my education in fashion and learn more from the professionals in the industry. Today I am an assistant manager at a local boutique called "Pink Chandelier" and am loving every minute of it. I hope to continue my fashion education and keep working hard toward my goal of being a successful business woman and stylist. All girls envy for all the wrong reasons, because she's pretty, wealthy, slim etc. I want to be that girl someone looks at and thinks "Damn, that girl has a great career."
