Hello, My name is Minal and I'm from North West London. I'm a friendly and sociable person who loves working around others and am very much looking forward to the variety of people I will meet within the industry. I am a creative individual with a love for events, culture, dance, art and all things unique and interesting.
I studied Events Management at Sheffield Hallam University and I loved it. Therefore, I decided to take up an additional course with QC Event School. Whist studying part time, I have also been working and I am lucky to have been involved in organising several events throughout the UK and internationally and have really loved every moment.
In my most previous role at GRV Global Ltd, I successfully organised a number of large conferences, summits, networking events, award ceremonies, gala dinners, television interviews and exhibitions across Europe and Africa. I organised the Third Annual ICT Summit in Tanzania as well as the Africa Climate Resilient Infrastructure Summit held at the African Union Head Quarters in Ethiopia. Furthermore, I have constantly built and maintained strong working relationships with sponsors and speakers from across the globe. This involved frequent communication with international venues, caterers and delegates and required impeccable management skills. I managed the event budgets and when the opportunity arose, I would also cross-sell services, securing additional sales and exhibition space. In organising these events, I managed and trained three junior staff members to assist me in all areas of the event.
Whilst working with Steel Media Ltd, a very well-known organisation in the mobile gaming industry, I organised several international corporate events, such as conferences, exhibitions, battle panels, Big Indie Pitches, mixers and parties for mobile game developers and publishers. I loved every second and have built some great relationships with colleagues and gamers around the globe.
Working at The Centre for Indian Classical Dance in Leicester, I managed a team of five to simultaneously organise thirty events. I ensured staff were clear in their roles and responsibilities through clear communication and assisted with securing sufficient funding through several government funding applications. I enjoyed motivating and developing the team and I always bring an all-round positive attitude and atmosphere to any project or task. We organised various events for the community, such as conferences for private businesses, summer activities for youth groups, health seminars, workshops, dance shows and classes, community fairs, book launches, comedy evenings, concerts, a touring exhibition in and around Leicestershire and much more.
