Inspiring Mood, Function and Harmony in your home

While at home on extended leave from my career my husband and I purchased a new home that we built together with the contractor. I was involved in all the decisions about the construction of the house and choosing all the cabinets, fixtures, layouts, lighting schemes pre-wiring and everything else involved with the construction of a new home. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and it prompted me to take a course in interior design.

For 23 years I was working in the financial industry at the same firm. Unfortunately a family tragedy left me with no decision but to leave my career. Although being at home has its advantages I miss being out in the world and meeting new people. We have built a new home that I was personally involved in throughout its construction and I found that I thoroughly enjoyed the process. This prompted me to take a course in interior design and start a new career in this industry. I have recently received my Diploma of Professional Design and Decorating from the” Sheffield School of Interior Design” which is recognized by CDECA. I have gotten straight “A’s” And A+’s on my assignments and I also received an award of merit for submission of an excellent assignment demonstrating Technical Skill and High Creative Endeavour. My teacher’s comments have included the following: I have a great eye for color and detail, my work and presentation is very professional and neatly done. She also comments that I really think things out before I make an actual presentation and this is what separates a professional decorator from an amateur. She has no doubt that I can really make something of myself in the design industry. This is why I chose to take an interior design course, personal satisfaction and the opportunity to work and meet new people while doing something I love.
