Organization, design, and decor have always been a part of my life due to the fact that my family moved on a nearly semi-annual basis. I had a lot of practice experiencing the joys AND rigors of setting up a new home. Fortunately, I was blessed with the ability to see each new environment as a challenge. Over the years I became highly skilled in creating pleasing and effective environments based on whatever materials were readily available: “Green” design before its time. I'm a "roll up my sleeves" and "you can do it" kind of gal!
For each environment I work or volunteer in, I utilize a combination of organizing, interior decorating, learning and skills development, therapeutic, and care ministry training. Thirty plus years' experience in both the corporate and private sectors have provided me with the ability to assess and implement needed improvements to physical space, flow patterns, and organizational systems. And because I have seen firsthand what inefficient, chaotic environments can do to individuals, families and businesses (loss of time, money, relationships, peace of mind), bringing understanding and compassion to the processes of change and creation is a priority to me.
I believe that people have increased potential to heal and grow in environments that are courteous, hospitable, and kind, and that each day we make choices which influence whether our surroundings feed and nurture us. I consider it an honor and a privilege to assist others in creating their own "gracious spaces."
