Whitecourt, AB

I am currently working in the interior decorating industry in a busy home decor store. I am responsible for creating and decorating all the room displays and large display windows that contain everything from flooring, furniture and bedding, to art and accessories. I also work with clients giving them advice and information on decorating their homes.

I have extensive experience in the housing industry having worked side by side with my partner during builds and complete renovations.
The information I offer below is to give you some insight into the type of products I like to use and to give you a feel for my design sense.
My last project was a 1970's arch rib structure that needed a reno from the ground up. We preserved the original arch ribs, and redid all the basics such as wiring, plumbing and drywall before addressing the decor!
We chose leaded glass windows for the masterbath in the loft, with travertine oversized tile for the heated floor. The use of slate on the outdoor deck off the master created an organic look.
An original spiral staircase from the loft to the main floor was preserved. Choice of material for the main floor was walnut bamboo. In the kitchen we used dark cherry wood, black granite, cream colored cupboards on the island for contrast, mixed grey marble and stainless steel tile on the backsplash.
We used travertine tile for the front entry flooring. The space is flooded with light from a uniquely patterned leaded glass door.
The decor is contemporary, with soft distressed leather furniture, wool area rugs, heavy modern solid wood tables, unique and interesting pottery, an assortment of hand turned wooden bowls and huge plants. Lighting is simple large lanterns suspended on heavy chains. All together an intriguing blend of organic and contemporary design.

I am interested in any commercial or residential interior design projects within a 200 km. radius of Whitecourt, Alberta.Contact by the customer is the first step, after which I will set up a consultation of up to 90 minutes in length. I always arrive prepared, with clipboard, camera and magazines that may contain suggestions or illustrations the client will find helpful. I like to photograph anything I need to remember in detail.
It is always a pleasure meeting with new clients and discussing their decorating ideas. My goal is always the same...to make their dreams and ideas a reality!
The initial interior decorating consultation is $150.00 plus .50 cents per km. travelling fee. This consult fee is credited back to the total cost of the job should the client decide to go ahead with the project.
I also offer advice to people trying to sell their homes. A consultation of 90 minutes is available followed by a detailed written report outlining major points in our consultation as well as local sources for suggested improvements and changes. This is a great tool that can give the clients property the edge it needs over others to obtain that quick sale.
