Cooper's room was in need of an update as he moves into the 'tween years

They paint color was picked out by Cooper.  Storage was added. Posters were brought together and incorporated into a gallery wall.  Scrapbook pages that are completed every year by his mom were displayed in shadow boxes that can be easily updated.

Sherry had a large wall that she was unsure of how to decorate.  The TV had to stay in the corner so it could be viewed from the bar area.  New flooring was on the wish list but not in the budget at this time.

The family room was painted to freshen things up.  A color was picked for the feature wall.  An area rug was used to cover the exiting flooring and bring the furniture arrangement together.

I measured the wall and drew up the space to scale.  This helped Sherry when she was shopping as she knew for sure the things she brought home were going to fit.

I wasn't sure what size of book shelves would look best in the space, so I measured the area and drew it to scale.  This gave me the opportunity to play around with different sizes of bookshelves.  When I actually went to purchase them I knew I was getting the right ones.

Sherry was looking for a guest room that was a relaxing retreat.  She wanted that luxury hotel room feel.  She was still happy with the paint colors.  She was looking for art work, textiles and some advice on furniture placement.

The room lacked a focal point.  I created one using the bed.  Adding large canvas art work and lots of pillows.  The color of the pillows was pulled from the picture.  A darker dresser was moved in from another room and some accessories were added to the top. Full length curtains were purchased to give the illusion of large windows.

She was tired of the color.  And the space felt cramped and cluttered.

I am so pleased with how this turned out!  The wall color is calming. We rearranged the existing furniture to make it work as best we could and the pops of orange satisfy Mel's need for color.

We brought the family pictures and a treasure that Sean found in a pasture together on one wall.
