Wajeeha Barakat, is proudly certified through the WPIC (Wedding Planners Institute of Canada) and is an experienced event coordinator. She brings to her work a unique and modern style and an ‘outside-the- box’ creative bent. She is best known for her ability to organize efficiently, execute effectively, and for her compassionate (but “no-fuss”!) calm approach.

Wajeeha began her career coordinating weddings. Since then, she has coordinated all types of events from weddings, live music performances and grand openings. She is now focusing on luxury special events.

Budget preparation, allocation and management
•Vendor recommendations and assisting in the selection of vendors
•Reviewing all vendor contracts* if desired
•Preparing and maintaining a wedding planning schedule for the months between now and the wedding
•Full development of the wedding theme that you have chosen (Recommendations with regards to theme shall include site decor, food, attire, favours, centrepieces, and wedding stationary)

It may have been that the bridesmaid dresses we ordered came in looking like something that a seventh grade home ec student would have made.Maybe it was a spelling error on our invites, or the fact that a lot of guests didn't know how to RSVP online and made the assumption they’d be able to just show up for our plated dinner. Could have been the venue flooding one week before the actual day- I never thought our wedding would happen. The only thing keeping me together was Janis. Not only was Janis able to come up with solutions to each one of my issues in a timely and efficient manner, she did it with compassion and tact (which was needed in my fragile state). Even though there was a large distance between us, I found Gina's to be 100% approachable. We texted, emailed, spoke via phone or Skype on a weekly basis. She provided me with checklists (loved them) and timelines for my (now) Husband and I to follow. Having that material really helped keep us organized and up-to-date with everything that needed to be completed. Within hours of finding out we had to find a new venue (in less than a week), Janis had several venues and vendors readily available for us to choose from. It was amazing. By the time she touched down in Calgary (after her plane was hit by lightning and delaying the flight by several hours) she had the new venue/vendors all organized and ready to go for our wedding the next day. On the actual day of the wedding, she was prepared for EVERYTHING- A last minute change with the DJ, my dress ripping and a “runaway” bust line… she had solutions to everything (an extra timeline, a sewing kit and industrial safety pins and baby powder). I am convinced that our wedding day would not have been what it was without Janis. She is everything and more. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Gina's Events team made our wedding day a success. It was absolutely amazing to have the weight of wedding day coordination lifted off our shoulders for the weeks before our wedding and the day of. Janis made sure that all of our wedding planning was in order and she provided us the tools we needed to ensure every last detail was taken care of. Gina's worked on our wedding. We hired them for "day-of" co-ordination. They were both so helpful (especially with Janis' emergency kit), especially organizing everyone for photographs before the ceremony and timing during the ceremony.
