"Because You Mean So Much"
With an innate desire to create beautiful things, Brooklyn native Deborah Griffin headed to Los Angeles, California, in 1994 to attend The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising where she received an accelerated degree majoring in Fashion Design in 1996. Upon moving back to New York, Deborah worked as a head Designer for some of the industries top fashion brands, including And1 Basketball Company, FUBU The Collection and Tommy Hilfiger where she was Design Director for Girls.
“It’s all about the complete package, the lifestyle” is Deborah’s motto. While still having the love of designing apparel, Deborah was asked by a friend to help plan her wedding. She remembered that Griffin designed her mother’s wedding dress for her parent’s 25th wedding anniversary. It went from helping her find the right bridal gown, bridesmaid dresses, making her headpiece, finding the perfect venue and designing the look for the wedding and décor for the reception. This ignited another level of design, creativity, imagination and inspiration that would be released.
In the winter of 2008, Deborah found a way to combine all elements of design, detail, organization, elegance, creativity and style that she loves all into one entity. Deborah opened DEARLY BELOVED DESIGN & EVENTS, a Christian-based business. The name is a term of endearment God affectionately calls his friends in high esteem. Deborah believes that God commissions us to Love our neighbor as thyself, so with that in mind Deborah continues to give excellence to her clients in all areas by transforming the ordinary to extraordinary.
