Exude Radiance From Within

My Mission

Makeup has been a passion of mine for many years. I believe the beauty and intrigue of the painted face brings about a natural confidence, and is fun and vivacious, a symbol of strength. With a gentle touch and the stroke of a brush, my aim is to reveal that confidence and beauty found in everyone; allowing their radiance to shine through when they greet the world. I am personable, open minded, hard-working, and dedicated; ardent about listening to clients' ideas and visions. I will do my absolute best to see those visions become reality, ensuring your working experience with me is an enjoyable one.

Experience and Education

My relationship with makeup began in late adolescence and grew into my twenties; working on school plays and creating looks for friends.

It ignited an insatiable spark at the dawn of my thirties, that blossomed into the pursuit of a professional makeup artistry career in May 2015. I was graciously afforded the opportunity to work on the Garside wedding alongside Paula Ghirardi, owner and hairstylist at High Point Salon and Spa in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. My work with the bridal party assisted in earning the salon a four star review on Facebook.

To further expand and hone my skill set, I enrolled in QC Makeup Academy's Makeup Artistry course in August 2015, I currently maintain an A+ average, and am projected to graduate in June 2017.

In November 2015, I collaborated with Providence, Rhode Island based artist and writer Amanda Grafe on the True Colors campaign photo shoot, a campaign she founded that blended art and photography to raise awareness about and combat the effects of bullying. Her concept was to use bold, painterly strokes of color in mixed media (both cosmetics and skin-safe paints) to showcase the models' diversity and individuality in their portraits, both male and female.

In December of that year, I returned to High Point Salon for an open house event that highlighted their menu of services. I offered complimentary full looks and touch-ups to returning clients and guests. I currently hold a flexible on-call position at the salon, while working freelance as well.

In January 2016, I demonstrated a selection of eye, face, and lip products from the makeup range of Rhode Island brand Ava Anderson (now Pure Haven Essentials), on a team with Kelly McDermott, the host of the event, and the brand representative. Their concept is to promote a safer approach to beauty, skincare, and household cleaning supplies, using all natural ingredients in their products.

Spring 2016 afforded a variety of clients for special occasions, including prom at Portsmouth High School, and birthday party attendees in Providence, Rhode Island at The Rooftop at Providence G, a semi-formal lounge and restaurant.

In August, I collaborated once again with Amanda Grafe on a movie project based on a short story she wrote called “The Man with the Deer Head”. It mixed 1950s retro glamour with the avant-garde influences of David Lynch and Maya Deren.

At the end of the summer, Amanda recommended me to Donna Harvey, owner of Stargazer Studio in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Donna coordinates shoots in a barn turned photography studio, and around the state of Rhode Island - the locations suiting the shoot themes. Shoots work with four to eight models, five to seven photographers, and one to two makeup artists and hairstylists.

I worked on two shoots for Donna in September and October 2016. The first was an outdoor recreation themed shoot by a lake in Cumberland, Rhode Island. The looks were clean, fresh, and natural, with an autumnal twist. For the Dark Shadows shoot in October, held in Smithfield, I drew inspiration for the looks from the vampire-themed 1960s television series of the same name, and also incorporated more modern Gothic elements.

Also in September, I worked in Pawcatuck, Connecticut for the Baranyk wedding, taking place just across the border in Westerly, Rhode Island. I created soft, natural looks for the bride, mother of the bride, and matron of honor as outlined in the trial in July. Like the shoots in Cumberland and Smithfield, I worked alongside their hairstylist in a team setup.

The wedding, shoots, and special occasion jobs have earned a returning clientele, as well as a five star rating on my Facebook business page.

In January of this year, I once again worked with Donna Harvey on the Leather and Lace photo shoot at the Harley Davidson dealership in Warwick, Rhode Island. Elements for this shoot combined rock and roll glamour with the edginess of biker fashion. The latest photo shoot for Donna was held at the Wyndham Estate in Newport, Rhode Island in April; whose theme was based on the 1956 film High Society starring Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.

In May 2017, I started work as a Prestige Beauty Advisor at Ulta Beauty in Middletown, Rhode Island.
