Keren Robinson, has applied makeup on various occasions for special events. She has been the “go-to-expert” for family and friends beauty questions. She has knowledge of color theory with a background in graphic design; an eye with which to admire various kinds of artistic expression and sees the venue of makeup as another opportunity for artistic expression.
"When my mother taught me how to put mascara on for the first time, I remember practicing for hours, attempting not to get the mascara on my skin or poke my eye with the wand. Even after all this time, what I learned is, you will always practice. Art is always and forever a changing experience. I felt really good at it and have received compliments when I go out on how good it looks. I decided it was time to help other women receive those compliments too."
Keren Robinson lives in Chesapeake, Virginia with her husband, Benjamin and feline, Ebony. In her free time she enjoys coloring, drawing and expression through other artistic mediums, spending time at the local art museum, reading books and creative writing, practicing her clarinet and vocals and watching other makeup gurus with Makeup Tutorials on youtube.

"Keren is wonderful! During my one-on-one with her, she walked me through the steps of skin care - washing my face and beyond, and applying make up for day and night looks. She took time to answer all of my (many) questions and suggest different product options depending on where I wanted to shop or how my skin felt after using certain products. She is easy to talk to and sincerely interested in helping you look beautiful and guiding you in learning how to take care of your skin and apply makeup confidently yourself for different occasions."
Alicia Eichmann - Workshop
Around the summer-season, late August/early September, I got the chance to have my makeup done by Keren Robinson. I generally always have a good time when getting my makeup or hair done, and I've realized that I enjoy seeing the differences in style and the "finished product" with each facial I've had over the years by different people. With these two past makeup sessions I had with Keren, I felt relaxed and comfortable--and I like that she talked to me about what kind of product she was using and what it was for as she was applying it. As most women do, I have my own simple routine each day with makeup. For me, it's usually a moisturizer, basic powder foundation, eye shadow & mascara. I don't really apply very many things onto my face at one time, so I don't really have a lot of experience or familiarity with anything much more extensive than that. That being said, I'm glad that I got to see the nice difference it makes when I use a little bit of concealer and liquid foundation, for example. Also being a young lady who has an ongoing acne existence on my face, I like having seen how adding a little of these two types of makeup can make my face become the focus rather than the acne. Which is also a reason why I like that the makeup applied during my sessions with Keren didn't feel heavy or thick in the end, even being more (or more of a different kind) than I usually apply myself. A feature I appreciate about my face overall, on the flip-side, are my eyes. During my first session with Keren, she accentuated my eyes, giving them a "cat eye" style (if I'm recalling terms correctly). That detail added some extra fun to the finishing look. During my second makeup session, Keren reflected a bit more of a natural look on my face. I've always been a more natural girl when it comes to makeup on my own, and it's nice to be reminded that a little can go a long way and that subtle is also beautiful. As fun as it is to take the time to receive any kind of facial or makeover, I like that Keren seemed to progress with ease from one step to another pretty swiftly. I didn't feel rushed through, but it was clear that she had a good understanding of what steps to take to create a certain look desired. Any changes that I noticed her making mid-way were confident, and again--I like that she talked to me about some of her thoughts as she worked. As silly as this might seem, sometimes after I finish my makeup, I actually find myself thinking about what Keren's suggestions or thoughts would be. She came across as positive and creative when doing my makeup, and it's usually after I experiment with combining colors for my eyes or practicing making my face look a little more blemish-free when I wonder if it would win an excited two thumbs up from her. I look forward to having another session with her in the future.
