Event Planner, Wedding Planner
Dreaming of a day when everything goes your way? I can help make it happen!
Hello! My name is Megan Kolb! Although I am a newcomer in the fields of event and wedding planning, I am not new to being experienced in them and I promise that I will do my best to provide you with the best day possible!
I know being new to the professional aspect of all this doesn’t exactly jump out as the ‘hire me’ standpoint to a lot of people, however, I urge you to try me out because I feel there are a lot of benefits to having someone new like myself work for you!
I want people to remember your event and be talking about it long afterwards!
If you think you might be interested in learning a little bit more about me please read on!
Since I was 16 years of age, I’ve wanted to work in this field and was thankful to gain a lot of experience working many weddings for some close friends and family members; including my own three siblings. Over the years I’ve also gotten involved in many local animal rights organization’s events such as the Golden Retriever Rescue Foundation’s ‘Grrand Affair’ held every November, their ‘Have a Heart Party’ held every February and also the Kentucky Humane Society’s ‘Picture Your Pet with Santa’ held every December.
Although I already have a Bachelors Degree in Communications from the University of Louisville, I am in the process of completing certification for event and wedding planning through the Quality of Course online schooling program and within that, discovered and joined the Association of Bridal Consultants; I now feel I have met the right group of people to really move my experience with all this in the right direction to making this my life career! They have been so kind and wonderful to learn from! I’ve only been a member for about three months and already three different wedding planning companies have allowed me to work closely with them; these include ‘Fairy Godmothers’ ‘Planned Perfection’ and Go Get it Events. Go Get it Events also has me lined up to work two more weddings with them two weekends in April!
I feel because of all the recent experience I’ve been gaining, I have a lot of fresh, young, new and modern ideas to bring to the table! It also means I have places to go for help, should I need any advice or direction! My schedule also won’t be as busy as someone who’s been in the game for a long time, so I’ll be able to give you a lot of individual attention and provide you with a lot of extra little special details that might be needed! If I still sound like someone you might be interested in, please check out my services tab and see what I can do for you!
I pride myself on being able to tell you that I’m very organized, a good listener and also high energy! I always try to look at the positive side of things!
My regular work schedule allows me a lot of evening and free weekend time so I can provide full services for planning an entire event, I can help you with the small details a month out or I can provide you with services the day of your event just to take the stress off and let you enjoy your day just as much as your guests! Whatever you think you may need me for, I’m just happy to help!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit more about me and I hope to be meeting and getting the opportunity to work with some of you in the future!
All the Best,
My name is Stephanie MacDonald and I am the owner of Planned Perfection Events in Louisville, KY. I have been a wedding and event coordinator for six years and I am a Professional Bridal Consultant as designated by the Association of Bridal Consultants. In October 2011, Megan Kolb assisted me with a wedding. This was the first time I had Megan work with me and I was very impressed. Megan was not afraid to jump right in and start setting up and did very well at taking it upon herself to accomplish the items on our “to-do” list with very little direction from me. She also has a great eye for design and very creative ideas. This particular bride had hired several vendors that were difficult to deal with and there were several mishaps throughout the day. Megan was very good about staying on top of the timeline and making sure that vendors were there on time and setting up appropriately. When the caterer had not arrived on time, Megan knew just what to do and made the appropriate phone calls before contacting me with her concern. I really appreciated that Megan was not afraid to step in and handle these situations properly. Megan has a great and friendly personality and was wonderful at interacting with my clients. Even though Megan was allowed to leave for the evening about 9pm, she stayed through until the end of the reception to assist with cleanup and making sure the bride, groom, and their families had everything they needed. In my eyes this demonstrated a true passion and dedication for learning this business. Overall I was very pleased with Megan’s skills and professionalism and believe she will make a great wedding coordinator.

MEGAN’S WEDDING/RECEPTION ASSIGNMENT When planning my daughter’s wedding in September, 2008, I was looking for a non-family member who could help at the reception. Because I had worked with Megan Kolb at St. Gabriel Child Care, I thought that she would be the perfect person to assist me. She is energetic, organized, and a “people-person”. The following is a list of Megan’s responsibilities at the reception hall: 1) Arrive at the hall at 9:00 A.M. with a list of all vendors and telephone contact numbers, a list of supplies expected to be delivered, and times throughout the day of coordinated events 2) Help and direct those persons making deliveries, decorate tables, etc. 3) Set up the foyer area with podium, guest book and decorated table 4) Make sure the area for the slide show presentation is prepared 5) Greet the first guests and direct them to room and drink/appetizer area 6) Help the person in charge of starting the slide show 7) Greet the bridal party and direct them as the DJ announced their names 8) Set up the special drinks used for the special “fun” dance and clean up after dance 9) Take care of any needs that arrived during the evening 10) Stay until the reception ended and help clean up 11) Help put items/gifts in car I would recommend Megan for this job/responsibility in the future. Sincerely, Dot Brandenburg

To Whom It May Concern: Megan Kolb has been a volunteer for GRRAND for a number of years. She walks at the kennel every other Saturday. In addition, she is always the first to step up to help out at our annual social events which include the Have a Heart Party in February and the GRRAND Affair in November. The Have a Heart Party is designed to recognize the adoptions from the previous year while the GRRAND Affair is our largest fund raising event. Megan always jumps in with a tremendous smile and winning attitude. She does whatever is needed to set up and tear down the events. She works hard to insure that our guests are taken care of and that their needs are met. GRRAND is an all volunteer organization and it’s fabulous having someone with Megan’s enthusiasm and energy involved. Respectfully, Marlane F. Robinson GRRAND Mission Statement: Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND) seeks to significantly reduce the number of homeless or abused Golden Retrievers through vigorous rescue, rehabilitation, placement, and education programs.
